Unconditional Love

Did you know that you are loved unconditionally by God Himself?  I truly believe that if this question was asked to most Christians the answer would be yes. Yet I wonder, do we really understand what this means? So, for this, I looked up the definition in my Webster 1828 dictionary to see what it said, and this is part of the definition:

***Absolute, not limited by any conditions, without terms of limitation, and without reservation (no action required)

So, what does this mean for us, as children of God? Well, this is my take on it, when I think of being loved unconditionally by God Himself, I am able to give myself fully to Him, because there are no secrets anyways, right, He already knows everything. And why is this important? Well, I think a lot of times we believe, even when we don’t say it, that our own goodness, or good deeds, are required to receive good things from God. Now you might say not me, but the truth is deep down we all have our issues in life we struggle with, and that can keep us from fully without waiver believing the whole written Word of God.

***Psalm 34:19 Disciples so often get into trouble; still, God is there every time.

Now I can’t say this for you, but I know in my own life I have asked, does God really Love me without reserve even when I mess up? Or even when I pray and feel like He gave me the answer but, do it my way anyways? And the answer to this question is yes.
So how do I say that so confidently? I mean come on we have heard, or at least I have, in the church realm that you better get right with God or else. Yet when I read the Word of God, I see that this issue with getting right with God was handled in full over 2000 years ago when Jesus Himself hung on the cross for us all and the only requirement given was to believe and receive.

***John 3:16 ERV Yes, God loved the world so much that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him would not be lost but have eternal life. 17 God sent his Son into the world. He did not send him to judge the world guilty, but to save the world through him.

So, what does stop us from truly believing and receiving every promise He gave us that day on the cross? Well, in my opinion, it’s just wrong thinking, and we all have it, that is why the Word of God tells us to renew our minds to every written word of God.

***Romans 12:2 NIV Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.

So today no matter what you are going through, know that God Loves you with zero conditions, and that while you may be in a predicament with health, money, fear, doubt, relationship or anything else, even if you may have caused it in some way, He has already freed you from it and paid the price in full, now this does me we can go around living however we want to, but it does mean we do not have to condemn ourselves when we mess up, because we can just go to God and thank Him for his love, and tell Him we need his help and try again with Him on our side, and when you do this it will help you live better than guilt and condemnation ever did.

***Psalm 107:20-22 MSG Some of you were sick because you’d lived a bad life, your bodies feeling the effects of your sin; You couldn’t stand the sight of food, so miserable you thought you’d be better off dead. Then you called out to God in your desperate condition; he got you out in the nick of time. He spoke the word that healed you, that pulled you back from the brink of death.
So thank God for his marvelous love, for his miracle mercy to the children he loves; Offer thanksgiving sacrifices, tell the world what he’s done—sing it out!
